The need for a Catholic Church to serve the communities in the expanding areas of Northampton was recognised in the 1980s. At that time, the embryonic parish held Mass in the Anglican St Mary's church on Towcester Road. A generous bequest enabled the purchase of the land and building of the church.
Designed and decorated in a large part by parishioners, our beautiful church was opened in 1989. Fr Michael O'Donnell was the first priest and the parish community was built serving Hunsbury and surrounding villages as well as new developments such as Grange Park.
SS Francis & Therese became part of the Cathedral Hub in 2021 and continues to offer a warm welcome to new and existing parishioners and visitors.
